Cornwall County ASA Development Gala

On November 19 the Cornwall County ASA Development Gala took place at the Leisure Centre in Bodmin.

Jodie Greenwood, Holly Hill and Rebecca Puckey who are all nine, Leah Saint who is ten and Juliet Wells who is 11, together with Connor Minniss who is ten and Jack Saint who is 13, took part for Bodmin Dragons, supported by their coach, Chris Harbisher.

Juliet Wells, who had a very successful afternoon, swam in five events and was rewarded with a gold medal in the 50m Butterfly, a silver medal in the 100 IM and bronze medals in the 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle.

In her first competitive gala Leah Saint put in an outstanding performance in the 50m Freestyle to secure a qualifying time for the event in the 2012 County Championships.

Jodie Greenwood swam in four events and secured qualifying times for the 2012 County Championships in the 50m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle and 100 IM, just missing out on the qualifying time for the 50m Breaststroke.

Holly Hill swam a personal best in the 50 Freestyle whilst Rebecca Puckey showed great determination in her four events.

Connor Minniss is his first competitive gala swam personal bests in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly.

Not to be outdone by his sister, Jack Saint swam a personal best in the 50m Freestyle to secure a well deserved bronze medal.

Chris Harbisher was very pleased with the performances on the day in what was a very friendly but competitive County gala.
